Trimble’s new mobile charter solution: FleetXps for Android

With the Fleet Express for Android, FleetXps for short, Trimble Transport & Logistics offers a flexible smartphone solution to carriers that regularly hire in charters and want to integrate them seamlessly in their fleet management. This makes them capable of assuring their customers of uninterrupted service at any time. FleetXps will be presented to the general public for the first time in Germany in September at the IAA in Hannover. Come and visit us on our stand B68 in hall 25.

AVEVE and Dumoulin achieve substantial cost and time savings with CarCube. Waiting times at factories cut back, fuel savings of up to 5 litres per 100 kilometres.

The AVEVE Group has recently invested in a hundred Trimble CarCube onboard computers for its parent company’s external carriers and for its subsidiary company Dumoulin’s own trucks. In deploying the onboard computers, AVEVE and Dumoulin, which set much store by innovation and sustainability, are able to cut back waiting times at the animal feed factories substantially. “In addition, it enables us to reduce fuel consumption by a good percentage”, explains Transport Manager Dries Callewaert of Dumoulin NV.

Trimble and Ortec join forces to offer integrated fleet management

Efficient management of the logistics chain not only calls for high-performance telematics but also for intelligent planning and optimisation software. Thanks to an in-depth partnership with Ortec Logiplan GmbH, the Trimble Transport & Logistics CarCube now offers the basis for an intelligent fleet management in real time. This is made possible by the fact that the on-board computer sends not only the current sat nav position over an open interface, but also notifications from the driver, such as the current shipment status (loading times, waiting times at the customer or traffic jams) in order to find the best route at all times. The Dutch logistics services provider, Dijco Internationaal Transfportbedrijf, has also been won over by the advantages of this system integration and is now working with this strong IT partner for its food logistics.

Trimble Transport & Logistics is expanding the CarCube on-board computer with new functionality aimed at reducing journey times and increasing ease of use. The CarCube’s Journey Time Assistance ties in seamlessly with the ‘1-minute ruling’ for the digital tachograph, which has been applied since 1 October this year. In addition, two new functions make it easier to navigate with the innovative Truck Navigation from Trimble Transport & Logistics. The on-board computer CarCube is continuously innovated, so that our customers can immediately comply with or profit from changes in legislation and regulations” says Michel van Maercke, CEO of Trimble Transport & Logistics. “Moreover, we always focus on optimising ease of use.
